WHAT MINORITIES DOES DCMBEC CONSIDER FOR
PARTICIPATION IN ITS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM?
A. The term “minority” as used in
reference to the DCMBEC website includes:
American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian, black
or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native
Hawaiian, or other Pacific Islander, and Hasidic
WHAT AREA IS INCLUDED IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL
A. The National Capital Region includes
Washington, DC, Maryland Virginia and parts of
West Virginia. (All of Washington, DC, all of
Maryland including Baltimore, all of Virginia
and parts of W.Virginia.)
WHAT OTHER QUALIFICATIONS MUST DCMBEC CLIENTS
A. DCMBEC clients must be:
· At least 51% ethnic
minority-owned (not gender based)
Located within the National Capital Region, and
· A for-profit entity
WHAT SIZE COMPANIES DOES DCMBEC WORK WITH?
A. DCMBEC specializes in assisting
rapid-growth companies and those with annual
revenue of $500,000 or more.
DOES DCMBEC WORK WITH START-UP COMPANIES?
A. DCMBEC will work with a start-up firm
if the firm is a high growth firm. This
determination is based on an evaluative process
that is conducted by DCMBEC staff. If the
start-up firm fit the profile of a firm that
will in a few months record the minimum revenue
requirement, then DCMBEC can engage that firm.
This process is on a case-by-case evaluation.
According to the rules that govern our grant
engaged clients should meet the minimum
criteria’s stated above. Additionally, if a
firm does not meet the requirements we assist
them in connecting with other organizations that
can assist them until they meet the requirements
to receive services from DCMBEC.
DOES DCMBEC HAVE GRANTS?
A. DCMBEC does not have or issue any types
of grant. DCMBEC is a private organization that
is operated by the National Community
Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC).
WHAT TYPES OF INDUSTRIES DOES DCMBEC CLIENTS
A. DCMBEC works with firms from various
industries. According to our criteria as long
as the firm meet the minimum requirements they
can be affiliated with any industry (as long as
it represent a legal entity within the U.S.).
